When I was a student at UCLA I talked my way into the And 1 Mixtape tour at Venice Beach, CA. I told them I was shooting for the public access show on campus. Back then, the And 1 Mixtapes were only found on VHS and they were hot. We never saw anything like that in our whole lives. We were on the verge of a new era.

In the spirit of early Hip Hop sampling, “Hands Up” was created in the same spirit and homage. To sample and access old footage while introducing it to the public in a new perspective are not new things in pop cultural arts. Music, movies, and commercials have all “borrowed” from the past. Anyways, we thought this was a nice combination of new and old footage.

Satisfaction by FM

Finishing the Game was the follow up to Better Luck Tomorrow. Satisfaction by FM worked as an almost perfect tonal collaboration between cinema and music. Thematic to the 70s, yet incorporating the sampling of modern hip hop, Satisfaction is another great song by FM.

We Furiously had Fun on this project. Thanks to Mr. Lin, Fast And Furious 3 would not have been blessed with the Asian American perspective and great music accompanying it. In honor of the Great Takeru Kobayashi, a hot dog eating contest climaxes this fast and furious finale. Early in their career, Round Round was really just the beginning for FM’s musical career.

Shot as a trailer for a movie that will never be made, Western was the first collaboration between FM and Arowana Films.
