MANIVORE Episode 1

you are what you eat

Ever since I’ve been back from Fantastic Fest, I’ve been itching to try and tell a horror story. I can’t say I’ve written anything scary before, let alone have proper film education, but I have enjoyed some great horror flicks in my time on earth. I also can’t claim myself as a movie buff compared to my yomyomf family either but throughout my life, watching scary movies are moments that I always remember.

8 – First movie experience EVER in a real theater. I saw Dark Man with Liam Neeson. Didn’t know going in what was showing, but I liked everything I saw. Probably not the super scariest movie but messed me up for life. Revenge is always fun.

Manivore

I know we’ve been lacking on keeping up this blog, but blogging everyday is just not in our blood. But we will continue to share and so for those few that continue to watch us, we really appreciate it. On that note, we have been quite busy. We’ve been working real hard on some new content and projects that can actually pay the bills. Here’s a teaser trailer of what we got coming up next week for Halloween!

This looks pretty dope

This doc has got some potential. I wonder how scary it was to shoot this. I wonder if we are even that ballsy to go after footage like this. And all this shot on a little DSLR. The world of shooting is changing. Check it when you got time.

FANTASTIC FEST 09

alamo drafthouse

I just got back from Fantastic Film Festival in Austin, Texas. First time in Austin, first time at Fantastic Fest. It’s one of the geekiest, nerdiest, and intense film festival experience ever imagined and I loved it. If you love horror, then you must come to this festival one day. They held it at the famous Alamo Drafthouse theater aka “BADASS CINEMA” where all the seats had tables in front of you to order food and drinks (even beer) throughout the screenings. Of course, every seat (besides the front row) still had a great view of the screen. My one big lesson in horror that I learned was that I averaged seeing one penis getting cut off a day. I guess its the norm. WOW! The fest wasn’t totally filled with horror but also many other genres so I’d thought I would share with you of what I thought were some great films that I saw. Of course, don’t consider me a true critic who uses confusing big words to sound like a genius but merely a fan of cinema. Here we go.

1040 Concept Trailer

So, there’s a good reason why we were gone for most of this year from our presence on the internet. We have been working on this feature length documentary for the past six months. Amazingly this project started in February as a dream (a real dream that FM’s
Kevnish really dreamt about!) and about 6 months later it has evolved into a tangible watchable 72 minute project. Divine intervention was truly at play in this process and our lives have been radically changed. Below is the concept trailer that we made from our first shoot on this project. Watch it. Check it. Check up with this website as we get it all up and running. 1040 Movie Website

WOWWEEE Is this for real?

How come nobody knows about this? Did I just not see the commercials? This little projector in your hand is just ridiculous. And this little thing only costs 350$? What the hell? It feels like a scam or something fake from a Prince in Nigeria. I don’t know. But I really really want to believe. If this is for real, this is gonna be sweet! I’m gonna have one playing at all times while I walk around. Check them out and you tell me.Cinemin WOWWEEEE

Counterstrike

Some of us in this camp can play video games, some of us kinda suck. I’m one of those that are ps3 and rockband challenged. I’m more into real life situations like this one. I was fortunate to get “ON A BOAT!” this summer and was intrigued by Erik of Sumora. This is one of those videos that you really got to spend the time to watch. It has one of those awesome endings!

FROM OUR PORCH

We’re so glad that the LA fires have finally been contained and normality is back. We truly want to thank all the brave firefighters and volunteer workers in another chaotic year of LA fires. This year’s fire affected us more than other fires only because we can ACTUALLY see it from our porch.
